Crafted for Good

We put our principles into action as we remain actively involved in our community through volunteerism, financial partnerships, and creating a welcoming place for all.

Beers That Build acts as the philanthropic foundation of Wicked Weed, in a variety of ways that help us best serve the communities we live and play in. Through this program, we cultivate relationships with core partnerships focusing on PEOPLE (Food & Housing Insecurity), ENVIRONMENT, EQUITY, and CIVIL SERVICE by investing in our local economy and supporting our fellow neighbors.

Donations

As we emerge from the impact of Hurricane Helene and assess next steps, we're focused on helping our Western North Carolina community.  While continuing to support our 300+ employee base, we're serving as a resource for water and supply drop-offs, providing shuttle services from outside of the city, and acting as a hands-on neighbor working with community partners to do boots-on-the-ground work.

At this time, we are pausing outside donation requests and focusing on those most affected and the rebuilding process ahead.  Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Land Acknowledgment

In the words of our friends at nearby University of North Carolina-Asheville, “Place is an integral part of our identities and carries with it our past, present, and future. A land acknowledgment is a formal statement that recognizes the indigenous peoples and cultures as stewards of the land on which we and our organization now reside.”

Wicked Weed Brewing humbly acknowledges, with respect, that the land we operate on today is the ancestral land of Anigiduwagi, more commonly known as the Cherokee, the Native people, and original stewards of this land.  We, as an organization, understand that there is a need to listen and learn from the Native people of this land. We acknowledge that an act of recognition is only the first step and that history that has often erased indigenous people from the history and story of these lands. With projects like collaborations with 7 Clans Brewing, and ongoing education, we hope to continue to learn from the Eastern Band of the Cherokee, working together to further grow a relationship of respect and reciprocity. We remain committed to our mission of remaining a safe and inclusive space for all, honoring the resiliency of those who came before us and all those who enter this space.
